How can that be beautiful?
At my house, we have lots of animals.... 1 dog, 1 goldfish, 10 ducks, and 12 chickens to be exact. So, in taking this photography class, when I needed a subject, I often used them. They didn't complain (well, Red, my dog did a lot - he hates when I take his picture.) The chickens often were very curious what was going on, and the ducks, well, were the ducks, and continued on with their life of quacking and complaining about everything.
It's amazing what happens when you changed the ISO, shutterspeed, apperature, or the white balance of a picture. Things change dramatically. You can see details in these animals that aren't normally visual to the human eye. You can see their eyes wide open, or the simmer of light bouncing off of their feathers. After I started looking at these pictures, I couldn't believe.
So, the next time you are hanging out with your favorite animal, don't be afraid to pull out your camera and start taking some pictures. Change some things up and you never know what you will find.

ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for animal pictures but my favorite one is the hen picture. I believe the composition, the color contrast and the angle are perfect. I would have crop a little the dukes picture and maybe try to focus in the duck that was in the middle creating an evenly blurry background.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comments! Thank you for suggesting the changes.
DeleteMy favorite is the picture of the dog. He may have hated you taking pictures of him but it doesn't show in this picture! The warmth and light in this photo give off the sweetest vibes and it overall just feels very homey! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe dog looks so sweet and almost like it's saying follow me. The light makes them almost a gold color and very welcoming
ReplyDeleteI love this picture so much! For starters its the cutest dog ever! but the colors and lighting really sold me. It has that honey glow warm look to it.
ReplyDeleteYour image of the dog looks amazing! When I look at him, I feel very tempted to reach through my computer screen and pat him on the head. He appears to be a little smug, walking away from some disastrous event he just saved people from. This image has a very good shallow depth of field; I feel like just enough details were left unblurred! My only note would be about the sunbeam on the right side of the image. I love that it's there, but perhaps it could be toned down slightly. I really like this image; every time I tried to photograph my dog, he would bashfully move his face out of view. Nice work!

The image of the dog made me feel like I was looking through a hunting magazine! I love that you used animals as your subjects in the pictures. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteVery inviting images! Great perspective of a hard working farm and can even portray a story about the people even though no people are present. -Victor
